Rob

All of my sweet little baby nieces turn one in the next couple weeks. The first had her birthday bash on Friday. Here are all the kids squeezing onto the same couch to sit by Uncle Rob. It's rough being the coolest of the cool. He really is that fabulous.

First Day of Preschool

William has been waiting and waiting for preschool to start. He's growing up so fast. I can't believe he's almost four! He's so excited when I pick him up after school to tell me everything that happened. He's the sweetest little smarty pants.

In the last 24 hours

I've made 3 loafs of oatmeal bread, canned (bottled?) one batch of salsa, one batch of apricot syrup, one batch of peach jam, and made four trays of strawberry fruit leather. I'm not sure if it's my intense interest in stuffing my face all day long or the overwhelming amount of empty jars cluttering my basement that gave me the energy. It's hard to come by these days.

We have peaches, spaghetti sauce, and more jam still on the "to do" list. Hopefully apple sauce as well. Josh and I tag teamed the salsa. It was his first time canning. Hopefully we can get all the jars filled and our food storage shelves overflowing.

First Grade

What a strange feeling to have Mallory now in full day school. I'm excited for her. I'm nervous for her. I'm proud of her and her excitement to learn. I'm hopeful the school year is a positive experience for her.

William is already asking when his sister will get home. I think it's going to be quite the adjustment for all of us.

Long Weekend at the Cabin

Josh took a couple days off and we went to stay at his grandparents cabin. It was a nice break from the busy life that's been going on at home. Here are a couple photos of some of the stuff we did while there.
Leaf rubbings and coloring. They collected different shaped leaves while hiking.
They put food out to entice the squirrels and then looked out the window. They didn't come until dark. Lame.
We couldn't do an outdoor fire so we went ghetto style and roasted our marshmallows to make s'mores over the stop top.
 Lots of hiking.
 See, I am there too.
Playing in the stream and being goofballs.
We had tinfoil dinners one night, my favorite.
